Opening hours Croatia
To see / To do Croatia
National museums. Opening times generally vary according to the season, with longer opening hours in summer. In Zagreb, some museums and galleries close on Sunday afternoons, or even all day. Others close on Saturday afternoon or Monday. For short weekend stays in the capital, this is a must! Still in the capital, several cultural establishments are being restored following the March 2020 earthquake. At the Zagreb tourist office, ask for the free pocket magazine(Events & Performances) for a list of museums and galleries still temporarily closed.
During the low season, many rental agencies and tourist information offices close around 3 pm - 4 pm. In high season, they open non-stop all day, some take a lunch break and close around 9pm.
Enjoying yourself Croatia
In Croatia's small towns and villages, ports and seaside resorts, you'll always find a restaurant, a konoba or gostionica (tavern), a local fast-food joint, or something open in summer. Opening hours vary from one establishment to another, generally between midday and 2pm and between 7.30pm and 10pm. On the other hand, the winter break can turn historic resort centers, seaside promenades or tourist harbors into veritable culinary deserts!
If you want to treat yourself to a meal in a gourmet restaurant or a well-known establishment with a well-placed table with a view, it's best to book in advance.
Take a break Croatia
In tourist areas, cafés-bars and restaurants are generally open non-stop from 9am to midnight or 1am, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. If the establishment turns into a party venue, it may close later into the night, especially in Zagreb, in the larger cities and on the Adriatic coast ( beach bars in particular).
