The Tonga people in Monze celebrate Lwiindi ceremonies, calling for rain. The first, Manzi Aabila Lwiindi, takes place in October near the sacred pools of Kalomo, where seeds are thrown into the water, before the festival continues. The second, Lwiindi Gonde, takes place in July under the authority of Chief Monze, who must eat the first meal prepared with the new harvest. This ceremony is the most important of the Tonga people and attracts many people every year.
