SIBIU JAZZ FESTIVAL

The Romanian capital of jazz, Sibiu hosts the country's oldest festival devoted to this musical genre: Sibiu Jazz Festival was born in the 1970s at Ploiești, before quickly moving to Sibiu. Taking place in mid-May, it annually programs excellent artists from the local and international scene. Big names such as Didier Lockwood, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Birelli Lagrene have performed there. The concerts take place in the main square (piața Mare), but also inside the reformed church or in the Mango Bar.
