The biggest folk festival in the country, on a mountain in the heart of the Apuseni. On the program: traditional dances and music.

This folk festival, the largest in the country, takes place on the weekend closest to St. Elijah's Day, July 20. It is held on the Mount of the Hen (Muntele Găina), near Avram Iancu, in the Apuseni. In the past, the fair was an opportunity for the inhabitants of the surrounding valleys to meet, trade and conclude weddings, hence the name. Today, people come to enjoy demonstrations of traditional dance and music, amidst spectacular scenery.
