First newspaper published in Hebrew under the British mandate in 1919. Haaretz (Country) is the reference journal among Israeli politicians and Intellectuals. Today, located in the centre of the left, Haaretz has always cultivated a liberal editorial line independent of the Labour movement (which has long disposed of its own daily newspapers) and more of the nationalist right. The sobriety of its layout serves an editorial policy focused on analysis and debate. Its Sabbath edition is complemented by two complementary, political and cultural supplements.
