When to go Turkey ?
Turkey is superb in all seasons. In spring, the weather is mild, the days are long and the plains of Anatolia are covered with flowers. In summer, the southern seaside coasts fill up. This is the time when the Black Sea offers the splendid spectacle of the hillside tea fields. In autumn, the whole country is decked out in yellow, it is the favourite season for hikers. In winter, Pamukkale and Cappadocia are almost deserted, ideal for peaceful visits.
The weather in Turkey is very changeable depending on the region. While the Black Sea region in the north experiences heavy rainfall in both summer and winter, the Mediterranean and Aegean regions enjoy mild winters and hot summers. The central part of Turkey has a continental climate, so the region can be very dry and arid in summer and also experience cold winters. Average temperatures in Istanbul: 3 to 8°C (January) and 19 to 28°C (August).
