It is one of the largest religious festivals in the country in most of the Central Valley. Rural and popular, it aims to provide communion to old and sick people who cannot travel during Easter events. Most processions go on horseback, followed by tanks decorated for the occasion, and groups of chorists. The escorts, called cuasimodostas, are easily recognizable with their white tissues covering their hair.
