Passing through Paris for the release of his latest album, the Cuban singer located in Havana, was entrusted to us on his news, but also on Cuba.

Why have you called your new album "Ven, Ven"?

It's the title of a song where I call all those listening to me by saying, "Come, come." I am addressing tourists in particular to come to Cuba now. This is the right time because the country is changing. My album is like Cuba where many doors open: it is both very Cuban and very contemporary with full sonorities.

What do you think of the reforms of Raul Castro which have enabled Cubans to work on their own?

They were necessary so that Cubans would no longer be assisted by a country that could no longer be assisted by them as before. Especially, it gave Cubans a chance to challenge themselves. So many Cubans are now taking the risk of staying, while for long the only risk they would take was to leave the country…

Where can we meet you in Havana?

I sing regularly at the Bertolt Brecht Theater, El Sauce and Don Cangrejo. I am also very often at the bar-restaurant Espacios because the frame is pleasant. You can eat outside in a beautiful patio and the kitchen is delicious. They'll soon start working the duck! The French will love me.

Do you have projects related to France?

I will be in concert in Paris on November 21, at Trianon. And I am organizing the first international festival of la francophonie in Varadero in April. On the poster, there will be Olivia Ruiz, M and the Justice Group.
