When to go Botswana ?
Located in the southern hemisphere, Botswana has an inverted seasonal cycle compared to Europe. Here, the southern winter, which runs from April to October, corresponds to the dry season. This is the best time to discover the country! Temperatures are perfect for safaris but drop at night, especially in the Kalahari. You will need to bring both light and warm clothing. As for the rainy season, it is the ideal period for bird watching.
The weather in Botswana varies mainly between dry and rainy seasons. In the dry season, in the north of the country, it is about 25°C at noon, and 10°C at night. In the south, the nights are often freezing. From September onwards, temperatures rise and in October the air becomes dry and warm. The rainy season extends during the southern summer from November to April. It is warmer and temperatures rise to 30°C. Showers are irregular and unpredictable.
