A trip to South Africa is a real opportunity to do activities. For mountain lovers on a tight budget: the inevitable hiking. For those who love water sports, there is surfing, kitesurfing and canyoning along the rivers. The sports activities are relatively accessible in terms of price, you can have a lot of fun with less than a hundred euros of activities budget, and they are generally very well organized

The thrill-seekers will be the happiest: paragliding, sky diving, parachuting, bungee jumping, giant zip line, or of course diving in front of the great white shark... Here nature is a playground.

The less adventurous, for a budget sometimes a little more expensive, will opt for wine tasting directly in the vineyards with extraordinary views and why not a spa

What's very local

South Africans are very fond of sports, especially rugby. If you have the opportunity to go to a rugby or football match in one of the mythical stadiums built for the 2010 World Cup, go! If you prefer to support the local team in the pub, that's also very local. Another national sport, especially in the mountainous regions around Cape Town, is mountain biking

To be booked

Divers must of course book their dives with the centres. Be aware that you will dive if the weather and therefore the visibility allow it. Similarly, for all activities such as paragliding, the outings are all co-dependent on the weather and especially the wind. Be careful not to plan a flight the day before your departure, it would be a shame if it has to be postponed

Main events

Throughout the year, and even more so during the summer months, South Africa promises numerous musical, artistic and sporting events. Jazz lovers will organize their stay around the Cape Town International Jazz Festival at the end of March, while diving enthusiasts will come for the Sardine Run in July.
