When to go South Africa ?
All seasons are interesting for travelling in South Africa. Remember that the seasons are reversed compared to France: December and January correspond to the high season, our July-August. If the cities are then vibrant and punctuated by many cultural events, the lodges are quickly crowded. If you opt for a departure during our summer months, the temperatures can drop quickly, but the whales will be there on the coast.
In South Africa, in winter, the Eastern Plateau region (around Johannesburg) enjoys sunny weather and an average temperature of about 20°C. However, from October until April, late afternoons are stormy. Summers are hot and dry (about 25°C) in the Cape Province with fairly cold winters (5 to 17°C) and sometimes snow on the peaks. Along the southern coast of South Africa, the climate is temperate to tropical depending on the area.
