It was in this reservation that it was reintroduced to the Oryx sultanate of Arabia. This project was initiated in 1974 by Sultan Qaboos and the park is also under Royal Decree No. 4/94. It is located in the middle of nowhere, in the desert region of Al-Wusta, a section of the country very interesting for its geological specificities. Take six to seven hours driving from Muscat, necessarily with a 4 X 4 since the path leading to Jiddat is not asphalted. Travellers who wish to go alone will contact the camp directly.
A permit must be requested prior to the Diwan Environmental Protection Office in Muscat Tel 24 693 537/536 - [email protected] - Possibility of sleeping in the reserve provided that the equipment is provided.
Another, simpler solution: with one of the local réceptifs, most of which offer à la carte products. Refer to the "Practice" section of the chapter on "Muscat" or to "Organize your stay" at the end of the guide.
