Practical information : Take a break Oman
Timetable
The famous coffee shops that dot the country are generally open all day long, from early morning to late evening. Coffee and tea shops adopt more international hours and are only found in the major cities. Those that are open in the evenings close later on Thursdays (the day before the weekend) and on Fridays and Saturdays.
What's very local
Omanis like to stroll, chat, play cards, smoke shisha while drinking coffee or sipping fresh fruit juice. The terraces of the Qurm Corniche in Muscat, for example, are crowded all day long and all over the country you will see men (especially) taking a break and nibbling some dates.
Smokers
Smoking is prohibited in public places, except on terraces.
