It is the biggest party in Qatar, with a military parade, fireworks and lots of entertainment along the Corniche.
The festivities last one week. For the occasion, a traditional village is set up. The military parade takes place from 8 to 9 am. The air force performs air shows and, on the bay, the traditional dhows are paraded. Classic cars are parked along the Corniche where there are many activities and entertainment for families. The grand fireworks display launched from Palm Tree Island takes place at 8pm, accompanied by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra live in the Sheraton Park for a concert accessible to all.
