The "pervyi zvonok" marks that crucial moment of the year when school bells ring for the first time after the summer holidays. After school, the streets fill up with schoolchildren and parents enjoying the last days of summer. From the capital to the smallest village, there is cacophony, running and shouting from everywhere. The boys wear small, very solemn costumes and the girls have huge white scrunchies in their hair.
