When to go Mauritius ?
Mauritius is pleasant all year round. The off-seasons (October to December and April/May) are ideal as they are not subject to the climatic irregularities of possible tropical storms. June to August are the "coolest" months (average sea temperature of 23°C), which are best suited to discovering the interior of the island or to kitesurfing. January, February and March are the hottest and most humid months, with a small risk of cyclones, but what a sweet break in the heart of the European winter!
Mauritius borders Reunion Island. They are both subject to a tropical climate.
The best time to visit Mauritius is the beginning of summer in October, November and until mid-December before the arrival of the cyclones: the rainfall is low, the barometer is rising and the sky is blue to make the lagoon pale. April and May are also pleasant months, still relatively warm but not heavy. June, July, August are a little "cool" (water temperature around 23 °C), January, February, March a little hot and especially humid with risk of cyclonic passages.
