At the foot of rocky slopes along the road to Mardan, a Buddha sculpture faces the road. Engraved in the marble cliff, sitting on a high throne in a meditative posture, this Buddha is 4 meters high. It was built between the 7th and 8th centuries, at the end of the Gandhara era. While the lower part of the body is still in a good state of preservation, the upper part of the statue has been badly damaged.
