In Nepal, the Cow Festival is like a carnival. People dress up as cows to commemorate the past year's dead.
The eight-day "Feast of the Cow" is dedicated to the dead of the past year. The celebration takes on the appearance of a carnival: cows are led through the streets of the town and young boys parade, dressed as cows. In the Newar tradition, the sacred cow guides the souls of the dead through the underground rivers that lead to paradise. To be seen, especially in Bhaktapur, where the dances and pantomimes are of incomparable imagination and grace. It is also the festival of the cartoonists, and the ministers see all kinds of cartoons.
