MAASAI TRAILS - RANDONNÉES PÉDESTRES
Maasai Trails aims to improve the understanding of Masai culture through hiking. By following the ancient paths left by the Masai for hundreds of years, visitors can discover the African bush in a different and more authentic way than any other safari. Your guides, local Maasai from the Loita region, are happy to share their customs. They will lead you on trails renowned to be the most conservative of this tribe, dedicated to their traditions, ceremonies and rites of passage. The small, low-impact, mobile camp is a sustainable method of providing income for the local population while protecting the natural environment of the Loita Hills and the sacred forest. The trails can vary in number of days and the group can vary from one to 14 people, but the trails remain the same and all leave from Jan's camp where the donkeys carry the equipment. Whether you want to walk in the sacred forest of Loita to a hidden waterfall or to the edge of the Great Rift Valley, here are the proposed trails: The Rift Valley (5 nights), Maasai Land (7 nights), Oltyiani (3 nights) and Ol Lasur (2 nights).
