After—, this is Mongolia's second national holiday. It commemorates the promulgation, in 1924, of its new constitution, modelled on the Soviet model and giving rise to the People's Republic of Mongolia. In 1992 a new constitution was adopted and the term "People's Republic" removed from the country's official name. Nevertheless, this date of the year 1924 is still celebrated so far, in memory of the dark hours past the Soviet regime.
