The Star Festival celebrates the legend of lovers, represented by the stars Vega and Altair separated by the Milky Way and who, according to the calendar, can only meet once a year around July 7. In the legend of Chinese origin, Orihime, the weaving princess, falls in love with the shepherd Hikoboshi. Their love is such that they abandon their work. As a punishment, Orihime's father decides that they can only see each other once a year. As July 7 approaches, strips of coloured paper are everywhere, on which people write their wishes.
