In the heart of autumn, the arrival of mild temperatures and warm colors are celebrated in the most beautiful places of Japan.
Just as the arrival of spring is celebrated under the cherry blossoms, autumn offers a thousand opportunities to celebrate around the glowing trees in temples and parks, as well as in the mountains. In Kyoto, people go to temples and shrines to admire the red leaves of maple trees. People in Tokyo go to Mount Takao instead. In November, a festival is held there with dances, taiko (drums) concerts and beers, all under the beautiful autumn foliage. The winter has to behave itself.
