PKS buses provide many connections between different cities and can sometimes replace the train when it does not exist (mainly in mountain areas or isolated countryside). It is recommended in some areas such as Mazuria and Carpathians because it allows to admire the breathtaking landscapes. The bus stations are recognizable at PKS, and are generally located in the center of towns and villages, often adjacent to railway stations. On the timetables, the buses indicated in black (ordinary or zwykły) should be distinguished, which serve all stops, in green (semi-fast or przyspieszony), and in red (fast or pospieszny), comfortable but which bind only important cities. Unlike trains, most buses do not work sundays and holidays. Read the signs and ask for confirmation at the window.
