According to the Orthodox calendar, the New Year is celebrated in mid-January in Serbian-speaking towns and villages.

New Year's Eve is a great time in Kosovo. Kosovars love to party and the passage to the new year is a perfect occasion for this. One of the peculiarities is that the new year is celebrated twice, once according to the Gregorian calendar, on December 31, and a second time according to the Orthodox calendar, on January 14. According to the Orthodox calendar, the New Year comes in the middle of January. This day is also an important holiday and in all Serbian-speaking towns and villages festivities are organized.
