The Sint Maarten Carnival is the colourful date of the year. It's one of the biggest in the Caribbean.
A grand multi-day celebration. Sint Maarten's carnival takes place from the end of April, culminating in the grand parade on the anniversary of the reign of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands on April 30 (who abdicated in 2013 in favor of her eldest son, Prince Willem-Alexander, after 33 years of reign). The Dutch part of the island celebrates its Carnival until early May, with parades and parades through the streets of Philipsburg. In the evenings, the Carnival Village in Philipsburg continues to host concerts.
