The steel pan "steel drum" is a melodic idiophonic percussion instrument. He is from Trinidad and Tobago and is very popular in Sint Maarten. In some houses, it was customary and even almost mandatory to play steel pan with the family. It is part of the musical traditions. The Gunslinsgers Steel Band is well known. The lively sound imitates singing, guitars, piano... A real orchestra in one instrument!
