TCHAIKHANAS

The inevitable and very popular tchaïkhana that border the Liab-i-Khaouz are the unavoidable rendezvous of tourist groups, especially at dusk. Enjoy a tasty lunch at noon, chachliks, laghman and manty in the evening. The basin lights up, the fountains spitting out water jets, all among the facades of madrasas and the khanaka Nadir Divanbeg: impossible to resist. With the increase in tourist attendance, the staff has mostly converted to English, and the menu also offers European cuisine. Another unavoidable consequence: the rates increase year by year but remain reasonable. And the frame remains fabulous. In the east of the Liab i Khaouz, you will find two small traditional restaurants concocting a good kitchen: Syavush and Genghis Khan. For a more local ambience, soup menus, laghmans, chachliks… Finally another small tchaïkhana, Bella Vista, opened on the floor of the house in front of Kalon minaret. It is expensive and very tourist, but the view on Poy Kalon is obviously fabulous. Stop yourself if only to drink a tea.
