This 44.50-metre-high minaret is one of the last Islamic architectural achievements in Central Asia.

The highest minaret in Uzs (44,50 m) was built in 1910 by Isfandiar Khan's vizier, Islam Khodja. It is one of the last Islamic architectural achievements in Central Asia. The minaret had a threefold role: Religious (the muezzin call for prayer), military (like Kalon Minaret in Bukhara, it is an ideal observation position to prevent frequent attacks) and that of being an ideal benchmark so that you do not get lost in the desert or… in a city full of méandres. Its slender shape and colourful rings move to the summit would almost appear to be larger than Kalon minaret, while it still gives it close to 4 m. For Uzs to your feet and a view of the surrounding desert, take your breath, the minaret has 120 steps. The madrasas Islam Khodja, built in 1908, is small, only the facade has two levels to harmonize with the powerful minaret. The vizier Islam Khodja was a reformer but he had the misfortune to serve Isfandiar Khan as a sulphurous. He managed to build a hospital, to install the telegraph at Uzs, but was murdered when he tried to reform the education system. Today, Madrasas houses the museum of applied arts, where wood panelling, carpets, drapes, etc. are the tower of madrasas from one cell to another. Before you leave, don't miss the small sale of "antique jewelry" on the left.

Turning right after the minaret, one leads to a street parallel to the main street, it also bordered on each side of madrasahs and leading to the mausoleum Pakhlavan Makhmoud. On the right, at the beginning of the street, the madrasas Atajanbay (1884) houses a small shop of wood panelling. It is flanked by madrasas Mazar-i-Sharif (1882), to which it is connected by an internal passage. The madrasas Mazar-i-Sharif also houses a wood panelling and wood carving workshop. Both are very little decorated, with the exception of a few green glazed bricks on the portals.
