Some dance bars are only open from Thursday to Saturday. Bars and tea rooms usually close early, around 5:30 pm.

Caledonians are known to be heavy smokers (with more than half of the population considered regular tobacco users). Smoking is prohibited in some public places in the territory, including cafes, restaurants and children's playgrounds. Smoking areas are available.
On the whole, New Caledonia has few tourist attractions, so you can rest easy on that!
