FIESTA DE LOS REYES MAGOS

The Three Wise Men are eagerly awaited each year. They are the ones who bring the Christmas gifts on January 6, the day of the Epiphany.
Puerto Ricans give each other Christmas gifts on Epiphany. According to Catholic tradition, the Three Wise Men ( Los Reyes Magos in Spanish) visited the baby Jesus in his manger to give him gifts. The children put some grass or hay in a box and put it under the tree to feed the camels of the Three Kings. When they wake up, the grass has disappeared and gifts replace it. The Fiesta de Reyes Juanadina, in the town of Juana Díaz, and the Fiesta de Reyes Isabelinos, in Isabela, are the most famous.
