For three days, the Festival del platano puts the plantain at the center of all festivities and tastings.
For three days, the town of Corozal, about 30 km southwest of San Juan, pays tribute to the plantain. The opportunity to (re) discover the unavoidable specialties of the island: aranitas (fried green plantain) stuffed with chicken, banana soup, mofongo (fried green plantain, then crushed in a pestle) with seafood, tostones (fried and flattened plantain) and maduritos (banana chips). Exhibitions, salsa and well-stocked plates: everything is gathered to spend a very good culinary moment.
