PUNTA BORINQUEN GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB
Punta Borinquen Golf Club is a golf club located in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. It was first opened during the Second World War, when the US Army opened a new air base in Aguadilla in 1939. The golf course, with 18 holes and grass greens, was built around 1940 and became a favorite of President Eisenhower. The 72-hole course offers panoramic views of the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Since the closure of the military base in 1973, Punta Borinquen Golf Club has become Puerto Rico's first public course. It offers one of the most spectacular sunsets and ocean views on the island. The fairways are straight and open, with numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of special palm trees found only in Puerto Rico's west coast region. Mild westerly winds offer a constant challenge to golfers.
