When it's midday in the Channel Islands, it's 1pm in Paris. As on the mainland, there is summer and winter time. In all seasons, there is a 1-hour time difference (- 1 hour on the islands).

In summer, tourist sites and museums are open every day without interruption from 10am to 4 or 5pm. From October to Easter, some monuments - such as Victor Hugo's house in Saint-Peter-Port - are closed or offer shorter opening hours.
Enjoying yourself Channel Islands
After a hearty breakfast, lunch is generally light and eaten on the go between 12:30 and 1:30 pm. Dinner is eaten at English time, i.e. around 7pm, after a visit to the pub. Restaurants close early and often don't serve after 9:30pm. Dinner is hearty and often includes fish or meat, starchy foods and vegetables.

Pubs open daily between 9 and 10 a.m. (sometimes 11 a.m. on Sundays) and generally close around 11 p.m.. Some pubs and bars close at 1am. Pubs are usually open from 4pm to 5pm for tea time, and from 6pm to 7pm for a pint of beer.

Most stores are open from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. every day except Sunday. In summer, some stores stay open much later. The main shopping streets are King Street and Queen Street in Saint-Hélier; High Street and Market Street in Saint-Peter-Port.
Get out Channel Islands
Pubs start to come alive around 5pm, when people leave the office, and stay open until at least 11pm (1am if they're licensed to offer live music). Some nightclubs and bars stay open until 2 or 3am.
