Timetable

Flamenco shows can be seen from 7pm until 10pm, lasting about 1.5 hours. Other shows, plays and concerts are usually scheduled around 9pm. For discos, it will be later, since the Spanish saying goes: " no hay ningún ambiante antes de las 2 ", no atmosphere before 2 am. And the party goes on until at least 6 am. Then it will be time to emerge for the first chocolate con churros. We go out mostly on Friday and Saturday. And practically all week in summer.

Budget & Tips

The price of flamenco shows varies from 19 to 35 €, the price of concerts varies between 5 and 20 € depending on the venue and a cinema ticket is about 8 €. Almost all flamenco shows have a special price for students. Discotheques range from 10 to 20 € and some have a guest list that offers free seats at a certain time or discounts, so check the website of these clubs. Count from 10 to 15 € on average for a cocktail.

To be booked

If you want to attend a show or a concert, you just have to take your seat the same day. However, you will need to make reservations, sometimes well in advance, for special events: flamenco shows during the Biennial in Seville, film screenings or concerts during festivals, great musicals in Madrid or highlights in the program of an opera or theater.

Night transport

In cities with a metro, they run at least until 11pm and sometimes until 2am. There are often night buses, at least on weekends. Otherwise, there will always be cabs or bicycles.

Age restrictions

Alcohol consumption and discos are restricted to those over 18 years old. Remember to bring your identity papers.

What's very local

In terms of shows, the main feature will be flamenco, which you will enjoy especially in Andalusia, but also in the region of Murcia and Extremadura. With, in Andalusia, a dedicated space, the tablaos, heirs of the cafés cantante . But it can also be discovered in bars and peñas, associations of amateurs who live it body and soul. In terms of discos, the clubs located on the beach will be a real pleasure, as will the large open spaces under the trees that some establishments in the south of the peninsula have.

Like other enclosed establishments, bars, discotheques and entertainment venues are non-smoking.
