In Portugal, it takes 1 hour less than in France: when it is 1pm in Paris, it is 12pm in Lisbon. Daylight saving time and winter time are switched on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October respectively.
Opening hours Portugal
To see / To do Portugal
Most museums and monuments open from 9am-10am and close around 5pm-6pm depending on the period. They are all closed on public holidays and holidays. Generally, ticket offices sell tickets up to 30 minutes before closing time.
Enjoying yourself Portugal
The majority of restaurants are open at the same times as in France, with perhaps slightly longer opening hours: from 12:00 to 15:30 and from 19:00 to 22:30 on average. Most restaurants close once a week, usually on Sundays or Mondays, and also on public holidays.
Some restaurants (in the broadest sense) serve breakfast from 8am onwards most of the time. In the evenings, the successful establishments are full, so it's a good idea to book the same day or the day before to be sure of a place, and it costs nothing.
Take a break Portugal
Bars and cafés are often open all day before the workers or students arrive at the end of the day. Happy hour starts around 5 or 6pm and lasts until 8pm, before the evening really gets going, sometimes from 10pm, and lasts until the end of the night for the most motivated (and depending on the opening hours of the chosen bar).
(To) please yourself Portugal
Business hours are quite similar to those in France, unlike the Spanish neighbour. The classic shops are open from 9am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm. Many tourist shops are open on Sundays. Shopping centres open very late, shops sometimes remain open until 11pm and open on Sundays.
Get out Portugal
The nightlife comes alive especially on weekends, from Thursday to Saturday evening, a little like in France. In summer, it's every day!
