Greece's biggest religious festival. Liturgies from Friday to Monday, family meals, fireworks, closed museums, etc.
Easter Sunday (Πάσχα/Pascha) is the most important Christian festival in Greece. As in other countries with a Christian tradition, the Resurrection of Christ is commemorated. It is a moving date: the Sunday following the first full moon of spring according to the ancient Julian (not Gregorian) calendar. The feast marks the end of Lent and culminates in a week of celebrations, with major liturgies from Friday to Monday, large family meals, fireworks, etc. Museums and many shops close, hotels are often full, etc.
