January 11th echoes the courage of the first independence fighters through the historic choice of words rather than weapons...
Shortly before the end of the Second World War, a group of Moroccan resistance fighters courageously demanded the end of the French Protectorate and all other forms of colonial tutelage. They drafted a manifesto which they made public and did not hesitate to speak of independence. The process before the full autonomy will still take years, but this date is considered as a major event of the Moroccan history until becoming a holiday.
