The festivities generally begin on the afternoon of June 22, with the solemn changing of the guard in front of the Grand Ducal Palace. In the evening, the festivities continue throughout Luxembourg City, with a torchlight procession and fireworks display from the Pont Adolphe. On June 23, four major events take place: an official ceremony attended by the Grand Ducal family, followed by the firing of 101 cannon shots and a military parade. In the afternoon, a Te Deum is held at Notre-Dame Cathedral.
