KUEBENDELLCHEN NATURE RESERVE
It is towards the French and German-Luxembourg borders that is located in the Kuebendellchen Natural Park, right next to Schwebsange. This small valley is fed by the Koulerbach, which flows into the neighbouring Moselle. The area looks as though it is an area with a wide range of biotopes, which testify to ancient farming. The richness of flora and fauna has justified protection by becoming a natural park in 1991. A horse on the municipalities of Burmerange and Wellenstein, the park is very hilly and has different types of soil, from limestone to gypsum. Its agricultural use has been very varied, since vines produce a wine of poor quality, but also traces of cattle cattle. Less and less practised since the 1950 s and 1960 s, agriculture has left it to pasture, and then fallow to observe the traces of the old plots. Wildlife consists of many species of birds (70 identified), but also shrews, deer, wild boar and rare butterflies.
