DUNSANDLE CASTLE & WOODS
Dunsandle Castle is a 15th-century castle near Athenry, County Galway. The castle is a hidden gem set in the middle of a peaceful forest. It has been lovingly restored and offers magnificent views from the top. Visitors can also enjoy a pleasant walk in the surrounding woods. The castle is sometimes used for special events, such as medieval festivals or visits from Santa Claus. Children can also take part in arts and crafts activities. Although the castle is a little difficult to find, it's well worth making a detour to visit. Visitors are warmly welcomed and can learn more about Irish history and the lives of the families who lived in these castles.
