Since 2015, Valletta has presented its film festival in June, which runs for about ten days. On occasion, forty feature films and twenty-seven short films are screened in mythical places in the capital, such as the majestic Teatru Rjal, transformed on this occasion into an open-air cinema or in the Herbert Ganado Gardens, in the middle of the Valletta ramparts. Three categories for the films in competition: feature films, short films and documentaries.
