Its fund consists of a 9 700 volume donation, granted by Bali Ludovico Guerin de Tencin in 1763. It also has a large number of archives, those of the order of Saint John and the Università, as well as rare documents dating back to 1500. It is a very complete library where everything is published in Malta, from books to magazines.

The regional libraries of Paola, Qormi, Mosta, Rabat and Vittoriosa have the same timetables.

There are libraries in all public schools, in most cities and villages, open two afternoons a week and sometimes on Wednesday morning.

In Gozo, the borrowing library - located Saint Francis Square in Victoria - and the reference library in Vajringa Street are open Monday to Friday from a. m. to p. m. and Saturdays from 7 p. m. to 13 p. m.; from 1 October to 31 May, it is also open on Wednesday from 14 a. m. to 17 p. m.; closed Sundays and Holidays. There are also libraries in the major villages of Gozo.
