CINCO DE MAYO

Parades, mariachi and culinary specialties such as tacos take over the streets to celebrate the Mexican-American culture.
Not to be confused with Mexico's Independence Day, this day commemorates the anniversary of its victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. More popular in the United States than its neighbor, Cinco de Mayo has gradually become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture, particularly in the territories where it is most present, such as Nevada, California and Arizona. Parades, mariachis and culinary specialties such as tacos and burritos fill the cities of these states.
