No less than three celebrations commemorating Panamá's freedom and sovereignty, first from Spain and then from Colombia.
In November, the symbols of the Isthmus' freedom and sovereignty are fervently honoured. There are three dates for these patriotic holidays: November 3 commemorates the definitive separation of Panamá from Colombia in 1903; November 10 pays tribute to the first uprising against the Spanish Crown, El Grito , at La Villa de Los Santos (November 10, 1821); November 28 celebrates the proclamation of Independence (November 28, 1821). Panamanians take advantage of these holidays to get together or go on vacation. Processions and brass bands all over the country.
