The sun replaces the snow! The population continues to gather every weekend around Chanté Nwel until December 24th.
After midnight mass, it's time to sing and dance around the traditional Christmas meal, with schrub (a typical Christmas drink made from rum and citrus peel), redcurrant syrup, black pudding, pork stew with yams, wood peas, Christmas ham... for purists who want to keep the tradition alive. Others have long since adopted champagne, foie gras, smoked salmon, shellfish and more... Products from France delivered to Guadeloupe, but at a higher cost.
