Our Lady of Candelaria is the name given to the Virgin Mary during her apparition in 1390 in Tenerife (Spain). The carnival of Oruro is the biggest event in her honor (Virgen de Socavón), but she is also celebrated in the whole country with a strong religious fervor: pilgrimages, masses, prayers, blessing of cars, folkloric festivities... The festival is in full swing in Copacabana, but also in Aiquile, a city in the province of Cochabamba
