Surprising, but true! It took 15 years for a desert in Costa Rica to turn into a remarkably bright forest. It's a project that started in 1990 that's worth the miracle: Daniel Janzen and Winnie Hallwachs, two students from the University of Pennsylvania, had the idea. Their aim was to empty a thousand trailers with orange peels in order to highlight the power of agricultural waste to restore the flora. The plan had been abandoned, accused of damaging the land. Despite this abandonment, the rubbish remained present. Mother Nature does things well, since 16 years later the result is incredible: a desert giving way to a magnificent forest

Researchers have shown that orange has had a very positive effect on the soil, making it richer and thus allowing considerable environmental development

Costa Rica is a country that never ceases to surprise us!
