Every four years, on May 8, Costa Rica celebrates the inauguration and inauguration of the President of the Republic.

Every four years, on May 8, Costa Rica celebrates the inauguration and inauguration of the new President of the Republic. The new president is sworn in on the same day in his office in the parliament. For the occasion, students and schoolchildren pay tribute to their president in the presence of many foreign personalities. It is also the Día del trabajador, ("Labor Day"), so public institutions are closed. Parades and fireworks can be seen in several cities of the country.
