CORPUS CHRISTI

Corpus Christi is celebrated on the Thursday following the Feast of the Holy Trinity ("Corpus Christi"). This religious feast is one of the most important celebrations in the annual liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. The feast consists of a solemn mass, centered on the Eucharist. Before the priest gives the blessing, there is a procession with the Blessed Sacrament, which goes around the church with four stations dedicated to prayer. For the occasion, many children dress up as angels and the Ticos decorate the streets around the churches.
