Commemoration of the Sandinista Revolution of July 19, 1979. Unfortunately, this celebration (and all the symbolism and heritage of the Revolution) is currently monopolized for propaganda purposes by Daniel Ortega's political party. Thousands of Nicaraguans no longer feel represented by this celebration, and have chosen to boycott it. The country's main demonstrations take place in Managua's Plaza de la Revolución.
